New cheaper Cybershot phone on the way

Sony Ericsson have apparently been working on a new C903 model in the Cybershot series and they’re expected to unveil it at the Mobile World Congress next month.

Given the codename of ‘Frances’ the phone seems to be a cut down version of the 8 megapixel C905. The bits that have been cut down include the resolution which is reduced from 8 to 5 megapixels, but does hang on to bits such as PhotoFix, Face Detection, Smile Shutter, aGPS and the active lens cover.

It looks more or less the same as the usual suspects and can be seen hopefully around the second quarter.
