Motorola replaced in 3rd spot by LG in the largest phone maker in the world stakes

Unofficially, reports on the top several largest mobile phone manufacturers in the world are saying that LG are now in third place having moved above Motorola.

The figures are only projected figures but reckon that Nokia has shipped 470 million handsets, Samsung 200 million, LG 100 million, Motorola 99.9 million, and finally Sony Ericsson shipped 96.6 million.

We should point out though that these are only projected figures and the figures do apparently come from a source at LG which might just make them a little biased.
