Who’s afraid of the big bad mobile phone contract?

3 have become the first operator to give customers the option of taking out a mobile phone contract that costs only £9 per month.

The contract offers 100 x network minutes or 100 texts and 300 3 to 3 calls per month, along with free voicemail, free Windows Live Messenger, and free Skype access. All that plus a free Sony Ericsson K660i which you can get in either black, silver, white or lime green. The duration of the contract though is a slightly extended 18 months.

The 3 sales and marketing manager, Marc Allera, said "Delivering value to consumers has always been a priority, that's why we're the first and only mobile network to try to take the worry out of at least one bill a month with the UK's first ever £9 tariff, " and "The current economic climate means that we're more committed than ever to finding ways to pass savings to consumers."
